Appointment Policy

We sincerely try to see our appointments on time and give your pet our full attention.  To allow time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we work by appointment.  Emergency cases will always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delays are inevitable.  We understand your time is valuable.

Although we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings, and other pets.  This is one of the reasons we request that animals be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the lobby.

Surgery Policy

We make a concerted effort to minimize risk to your pet or to our other hospitalized patients.  That is why our policy is that patients be vaccinated at least a week prior to elective surgery and be examined by one of our doctors for a wellness exam.  We also recommend pre-anesthetic bloodwork for all surgical patients - this screens organ function and helps make any anesthetic procedure safer for your pet by alerting us if an organ (such as liver or kidneys) is functioning abnormally.  The results give the veterinary team more information and may alter the treatment plan for the patient, such as adding intravenous fluids or choice of anesthetic.
